Labor Day Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast 2014

[embedit snippet=”responsive-ad”]

Last Week:  Nailed it, unfortunately.  No wind to kiteboard.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 8, Close –11 , Way Off – 0

Today: Once the rain moves through it looks like it will be S  around 15 to 20 knots north of Muskegon to Little Sable Point.  As long as the wind doesn’t go  SE, it should be pretty good.  North Muskegon St Park, Meinhert and the Point.  It should blow into the evening as well and the rain should be moved through.

Saturday:  The wind is going to continue all morning and into the afternoon out of the south at 15 to 20 knots.  It may even shift a little more SW as the day goes on.  Basically any beach where the wind is side to side on should be rideable from Holland to Pt Betsie.  Rain is in the forecast so you’ll have to watch for that, but that should also keep the beaches less crowded on this holiday weekend.

Sunday: Not looking windy at all.  Light and variable winds.  However, rain is less likely so it will be a nicer day.

Labor Day: Big south wind forecast from early morning into the afternoon.  It should be 20+ knots up and down the lakeshore, more at the points.  It should also generate some nice waves.  Rain and possible T-storms forecast as well.  Obviously this is a few days away still so alot could change, but it’s looking promising.

Water is about as warm as it’s been all summer.  I’ll check in and comment on changes.  Don’t forget to check out to see the latest conditions.  Have a great weekend!
