New Addition to the Quiver

Kiting activity has been pretty slow during this mild winter.  No snow or ice to snowkite and too cold to get out on the water.  Fortunately, I found a great deal on a new kite I have been considering purchasing.  I have a 12m Cab Convert and a 8m Cab Switchblade.  I can cover a pretty good wind range with those two kites, but once the wind picks up to 28 – 30 knots +, the 8m switch is too powered for me.  I wasn’t dying to get a smaller kite, but the clearance deal at the local kite shop was too good to pass up.  I have purchased almost all of my kiteboarding gear from Mackites in Grand Haven and have really had a positive experience with them.  Their customer service has been top notch too.  So I gave them a call last week to talk about the Nomad 5.5m on clearance and Nathan sold me on it.  It’s supposed to be a very stable kite, good high end wind ability to handle gusts and good for riding in the waves, and when it’s blowing 30 knots, it is very wavy on lake Michigan.  Anyone else have a Nomad and want to share their thoughts on it?
