This is Gale Force Kiteboarding

Gale Force winds blew up and down Lake Michigan all day long creating head high waves and butterflies in the stomachs of area kiteboarders. The wind died down around 5:00 to under 20 knots but shortly thereafter the lake starting spitting and sand blasted the shoreline as the wind ramped back up to 35 knots. I wasn’t able to ride but was able to get some pics of Matt and the Grand Haven crew. Enjoy!

  • Thanks for coming down and posting these pictures. Great shots!

  • Great pics. Wow. There were a lot of guys out there. That was a surprise. This is inspiration. I have been watching the surf at Cocoa Beach, Florida (home base of Ron Jon surf shop) every day for the last week. Yesterday morning there were a few surfers on small surf (2-3′), but other than that only kite-boarding opportunities. Cocoa is a great place to learn kite-boarding. So I will make that my priority when I’m down there in a couple of weeks. Got to have more options to be on the water. Thanks for the inspiration. Keep it coming.

  • Matt..you are crazy…but I know how much you love the sport. Awesome!!! Sv Have always enjoyed watching you doing your kite boarding thing!!
