Weekend Kiteboard Forecast Aug 24th & 25th

Last Week: Nailed it unfortunately.  There was no wind for kiteboarding last weekend, but hat changed as soon as Monday came.  This weekend should be a bit better.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 7, Close – 12, Way Off – 2

Friday:   An easterly wind through the first half of the day, but a NNW thermal should take hold in the afternoon  from Muskegon to Grand Haven.  However, it doesn’t look like it will build enough.  Probably get to 10 knots or so.

Saturday:  A south thermal should build just enough to ride at LSP and Pt Betsie.  Probably not any more than 15 knots.

Sunday:  This looks to be the best day of the weekend with a south wind that is going to pick up as it goes north up the lake.  The wind should be good enough to ride north of Muskegon to LSP in the 15 to 20 knot range.  LSP, Big Point and Pt Betsie should all be in the 25 to 30 knot range.  I would try to get out early at LSP, as it can get gusty later in the day as when it goes to nuke level.

Not too bad of a forecast.  Water’s warm, sun should be out.  Gravy!
