Weekend West MI Kiteboarding Forecast 6/1 & 6/2

Last week: Close.  Friday was good in the afternoon as predicted.  Saturday was too light, although I did “ride” a little in Manistee if you can call it that.  Sunday and Monday went as predicted.

Tally so far: Nailed It! – 3, Close – 6, Way Off – 0

Friday: South winds along the lakeshore in the 15 to 20 knot range all afternoon.  Holland St Pk, North Shore Grand Haven, Muskegon St Park, the honey hole, Little Sable, Big Sable, and Pt Betsie should all work.

Saturday: Same as Friday, however I think Little Sable Point has a chance to go off with 10 more knots than everywhere else if there is some sun out.

Sunday:  The wind is going to switch around to the NW in the morning and pick up into the low 20 knot range for the afternoon.  Muskegon Pier Marquette Beach and Grand Haven St Park would be the spots in the mid afternoon to check out.

Also, it will be necessary to watch for thunderstorms moving in on Friday and Saturday.  Get off the water, land your kite and seek shelter ASAP when one is approaching.
