Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast April 19th and 20th

Last Week: There was no last week

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 0, Close – 0, Way Off – 0

Finally!  Wow, what a winter.  Hopefully everyone got out for some snowkiting, but man that was too long to go without kiteboarding on the water, at least Lake Michigan.

Today:  This afternoon should have some wind out of the NW for a lightwind session.  10 to 15 knots.  With the water so cold and air temps still pretty low, unless you have great lightwind gear, probably gonna be a difficult session.  Manistee, Muskegon, Grand Haven and Holland would be the best options.

Saturday:  This one is tough to call.  I think it’s going to be too much of a SE flow to make the conditions rideable at most spots.  From Holland to Muskegon, probably no go for sure.  North of Muskegon to little sable point could be side shore enough for a light wind session and I think right at the point it might fire with the sun out.  Early afternoon.

Sunday:  Looking to be the best day for wind.  From Holland to Pt Betsie there should be rideable wind out of the South.  15 to 20 knots with Little Sauble Point a little higher and Pt Betsie quite a bit higher.  Best time of the day will be late morning and early afternoon.  The further north you go, the better chance of rain too.
