Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Aug 17th & 18th

Last Week: Way Off.  Too optomistic last weekend.  No thermals built enough to be able to ride.  Saturday afternoon wind speeds maxed out at 10 to 12 knots.  Thermals are tough to forecast.  Sunday was cloudier than I thought it would be.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 6, Close – 12, Way Off – 2

Friday:   Light and variable winds.

Saturday:  Light and variable winds.

Sunday:  Light and variable winds.

Not a good forecast.  Luckily DP and I got out this past Tuesday for a decent 2 hour session.  It’s been slim pickins.  Early next week might have wind out of the south.

  • I rode Sunday! You were not that far off, around 5 all the way to sun set it was 15knots or so at pt betsie

    • Nice! Were there other kiteboarders out on Sunday at the point? We didn’t get any wind to speak of in West Michigan. I got out on Friday at Federal Park(between Manistee and Ludington) from around 12:30-2:00. It was blowing around 18 knots.
