Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Aug 4th and 5th

[embedit snippet=”autoad”]

Last Weekend:  Not much wind last weekend and I was on vacation and missed doing the forecast.  Could this weekend bring some relief…….?  I know a lot of people are getting antsy with the lack of wind lately.

Water Temp:  Rebounded nicely.  The majority of the lakeshore is back in the low 70’s, however there are still some pockets of cooler water.  Good idea to check before going out if you need a wetsuit or not.

Today:  Light winds

Saturday:  A southerly breeze will develop in the afternoon.  Should be enough for some light wind riding from north of Muskegon to LSP.  Probably around 15 knots.

Sunday:  Looking pretty good for a south wind for the entire lakeshore.  Should be around 15 to 20 knots with a little more closer to the points.  Gonna be a hot and humid one too!

Ryan representing out in Oregon at Hood River!  Boosting 54 feet is insane.

  • What do you think about a downwinder from Little Sable Point to Ludington?

    • Hugh, Sorry I missed this. That would be a nice downwinder but I’ve never done it. Probably have to start out overpowered at LSP to make sure you had enough kite for the rest of the trip. Matt hit Ludington on Sunday and I hit the North Shore beach in Grand Haven.
