Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast August 15 & 16th

Last week:  Close – Not a good weekend for wind.  Saturday was the day I was off.  The wind was too much out of the east all weekend for anything to develop.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 10, Close –8 Way Off – 0

Friday:  There is a little wind out of the SW this afternoon, but it is just on the light side.  Probably won’t be enough unless you have a foil board.

Saturday:  Winds will be light and variable.  Mostly calm.

Sunday:  There is some hope for this weekend!  A good south wind is going to build over the course of the day and make the entire lakeshore rideable.  The wind will also be stronger the further north you go.  Holland to Muskegon might be in the 15 to 20 knot range, and the points of LSP and Pt Betsie will probably be pushing 30 knots, but not much beach at the points.

Well this summer is really starting to deliver.  Had another really good ride this past Tuesday.
