Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast August 27th and 28th

Last Week – Close: Friday was pretty much on, Saturday was close because the wind didn’t really start till late afternoon after all the rain moved through.  Then we had 25 knots out of the West.  Sunday was close too, but it never got close to 30 knots.  It was more around 20 knots out of the NW in the morning to early afternoon.

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 6, Close – 13, Way Off – 0

Water Temp:  Low to Mid 70’s everywhere

Today:  Unfortunately, not much wind in the forecast this week.  Light winds out of the NW to W this afternoon.

Saturday:  Looking like a round of rain and light winds out of the SE.

Sunday:  Light and variable winds.

We had some south wind earlier this week and we were able to make it out afterwork for a awesome warm water session.  The wind never let up all evening, so we were able to stay out on our 10m and 12m kites till late into the evening.  It was a good decision to go out where we did even though it was a little bit of a drive.

  • Nice photos. I especially liked the third from the bottom. It captures the water, beach, sky and sport perfectly. Miles and miles of open Lake Michigan beach. Good job, and thanks for the pics. I would like to have a print of that shot framed. -John Veach
