Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast July 11th and 12th

Last Week: I would say nailed it! It was a calm weekend last weekend, but hopefully you got out last Monday or Tuesday.  Plenty of wind those days with the front moving through.

Today:  Pretty calm today with a whisper of a south breeze for most of the lakeshore.  Maybe up north at Pt Betsie this afternoon there could be enough wind to ride, but it’s not a sure thing and with the beach conditions, probably not worth going.

Saturday:  Repeat of Friday

Sunday: There is some potential here.  A front is going to be passing through during the day bringing a little rain for some areas.  However, mid afternoon the wind should pick up out of the SSW to 15 to 20 knots for most of the lakeshore.  Right now the windiest spots look to be from LSP to Pentwater to Ludington and Ludington state park.  South of those areas might be closer to 15 knots while those areas will be more in the 20 knot range.  I’ll keep an eye on this an update if it looks to be changing.  Still wouldn’t really recommend launching and landing at LSP.
