Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast July 1st & 2nd

Last Week:  Nailed It!  It was a great weekend for some kiting Saturday and Sunday.

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 5, Close – 3, Way Off – 1

Water Temp:  Mid 60’s for the lakeshore.

Today:  Light and variable winds.

Saturday:  Another light wind day, but a lake breeze will develop late afternoon for Holland to Muskegon out of the west.  Maybe enough for a light wind foil sesh.  Beaches will probably be busy this weekend.

Sunday:  Late morning into early afternoon there should be 15 to 20 knots or so out of the SW for the the southern half of the lakeshore.

The 3rd and 4th are not looking very windy.  Maybe a NW thermal for the Manistee area on Monday.  Don’t hold me to it though!

This past Wednesday morning Jeff and I got out for a Dawn Patrol session.  I met Jeff pumping his kite on the beach at 6am.  The wind was a little side off in Grand Haven, but then 10 min later it switched to side on and picked up to 25 knots.  Yahtzee!

This is a weekly blog post of my best guess at the kiteboarding conditions for the coastline of Lake Michigan from Holland north to Pt Betsie. Subscribe to automatically receive this forecast in your inbox
