Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast July 22nd & 23rd

Last Week:  Close.  Sunday really turned out great.  The wind even came around to NNW for Muskegon to Holland.  Unfortunately I missed the action…..

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 5, Close – 6, Way Off – 1

Water Temp:  Low 70’s for most of the lakeshore with some pockets of mid to upper 60’s mixed in.  The lake turned over in the Holland to Muskegon stretch, but has recovered mostly back to the mid 60’s.

Today:  Hardly a breeze this afternoon.

Saturday:  Variable winds and mostly light.  Wind could pick up at times with rain moving through.  Hard to say there will be anything rideable at this time.

Sunday:  Forecasts are not in agreement at this time, but don’t look very promising.  However, one forecast shows a decent NW wind developing late Sunday.  Best case scenario is that shapes up and moves in even earlier.  Or, it develops and turns Monday into a good windy North day.

Quite a few riders were out in Manistee last Sunday to enjoy the North wind.  Jeff’s dad who is an avid paddle board surfer snapped some pictures for us to share.

We had Tony, Josh, Lance, Steve and many others.  Looks like they got their fill!

  • Holland went off great last Sunday (7/16) morning (10a-1p) and afternoon (4p-7p). Hoping for an hour this Saturday early AM in Holland – but it looks weak.
