Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast June 10th & 11th

Last Week:  Nailed It!  Not much wind last weekend

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 3, Close – 2, Way Off – 1

Water Temp:  Earlier this week we were actually into the low 60’s, but the lake decided to turn over and we are back down into the mid 50’s and low 50’s to the north.

Today:  Some NW wind is going to pick up mid afternoon for the Manistee to Pentwater area it looks like.  Just around 15 to 20 knots.

Saturday:  Could be EPIC!  The wind is going to pick up early afternoon out of the SSW and increase in strength over the rest of the day, peaking in the evening before sunset.  It’s looking like the southern half of the lake could be seeing 25 to 30 knots and the northern half seeing 30 to 35 knots and the Frankfort to Pt Betsie area seeing 40 knots.  Plus the weather is going to be hot and sunny.  Take your pick of beaches to go to, but expect crowded conditions.  Stay clear and downwind of people!

Sunday:  Should be some leftovers of the big blow in the morning with 15 to 20 knots gradually decreasing during the morning.  Then in afternoon there should be a little bit of a pick up to 15 to 20 knots again for a few hours out of the south still.

Where to go and how much wetsuit will I need Saturday….
