Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast June 18th and 19th

Last Week – Close:  I was pretty good with Friday and Sunday, but off on Saturday.  The thunderstorms came through in the middle of the night instead of the morning and the wind wasn’t there Saturday morning.  In addition there was 15 to 20 knots of wind along the northern half of the lakeshore on Saturday.

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 3, Close – 8, Way Off – 0

Water Temp:  Upper 50’s to low 60’s with some colder pockets mixed in.

Today:  A thermal wind out of the NNW is going to pick up around mid afternoon.  This will be from around Muskegon down to Holland and winds should be around 15 to 20 knots or even slightly higher.  Could be really busy at the beaches today with swimmers and everyone enjoying the warm weather.  Keep your distance and play it safe!

Saturday:  Light and variable winds today.  Not much for kiteboarding.

Sunday: A southerly breeze during the morning and early afternoon with sunny skies should mean thermal enhanced winds for the usual locations along the shoreline.  Mostly from north of Muskegon up to LSP and then BSP and Point Betsie.  Again with these spots there is really limited beach so that needs to be consideration.
