Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast June 24th & 25th

Last Week:  Close.  Sunday was good in the 20+ knot range for the northern half of the lake, but not so much for the southern half.  Quite a bit lighter.

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 4, Close – 3, Way Off – 1

Water Temp:  Upper 60’s for the southern half of Lake Michigan and low 60’s to the north.  Not bad!

Today:  A light NW breeze for all of the lakeshore.  Not quite enough to go out.

Saturday:  The should be 15 to 20 knots out of the West for the Muskegon to Holland areas late morning and into the early afternoon.  Weather is going to be a little cooler too, so the beaches shouldn’t be too crowded.

Sunday:  Looks like a repeat of Saturday except might be a couple extra knots!

I happened to be up north last Sunday and got some of the good wind.  It was a fun mostly flat water session at the north beach in Manistee.  The wind was side shore in the low 20 knots with gusts a little higher.  The only odd thing was I couldn’t boost as high as I normally would with that much wind.  Like there wasn’t as much power higher up maybe.  Regardless, here are some pics from the day.  Oh and I got a new board!!!
