Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast June 29th & 30th

Last Week: Close, almost nailed it. Friday was windy in the afternoon and then died at 5.  Saturday was maybe windy enough at LSP and Sunday was right on.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 3, Close – 9, Way Off – 1

Friday: It’s going to be too light everywhere to ride today.

Saturday:  Saturday looks like a north wind is going to build in the afternoon peaking by 5 pm or so.  It should reach up to 20 -25 knots in some someplaces.  Manistee First St Beach should be good, Manistee National Forest Lake MI campground, Nordhouse dunes (if you’re up for a hike in), Cedar Point Beach, and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Beach if you have 4 wheel drive.  Pretty much anywhere the wind is side to side on from Frankfort to Silver Lake.

Sunday: Basically a repeat of Saturday except the wind might not peak quite as high and it is going to be more of a NNE direction instead of a N.  The above mentioned spots should work again, however there could be a little more gust or some light spots if doing a downwinder.  Should be sunnier than Saturday too.

The air temps might not feel like the end of June this weekend, but I’m not going to complain 🙂  Should be fun if you can get out.
