Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast May 6th and 7th

Last Week:  Nailed It!  Manistee was great and really the only kiteable spot along the lakeshore with N to NNE wind.  Sunday was all east wind.

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 1, Close – 0, Way Off – 0

Water Temp:  No change from last week. Temperatures are in the mid to low 40’s from south to north.

Today:  This weekend is looking sunny and windy!  This afternoon it is going to pick up out of the N to NNW.  It should be good and windy with 20+ knots from Manistee all the way down to Holland.

Saturday:  BIG NW WIND ALL DAY!  Wind will be in the 25 to 30 knot range especially late afternoon with gusts over 30 for the entire lakeshore from Pt Betsie to Holland.  This should generate some nice waves too.  It’ll be a bit cool due to the wind chill, but hopefully the sun will be out most of the day.  Kind of reminds me of a fall wind forecast, except with colder water.

Sunday:  More NW wind, but it is going to gradually decrease over the course of the day.  It’ll be 20 to 25 knots early, decreasing to 15 to 20 by late afternoon for the entire lakeshore.
