Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Nov. 1st and 2nd

Last Week:  Nailed it!  We didn’t get all three days of wind like the weekend before, but we did get an awesome day on Saturday.  Winds in the 20 knot range, sun, warmish water, it was a really great ride.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 12, Close –16, Way Off – 0

Today: 50 knot winds. I don’t really recommend going out today.  Too much wind and high gusts.  Poor weather with rain, snow, possible thunder storms and cold!  Further south of Holland should be side shore to side on and on shore, but again the wind is only going to be higher and bigger waves.  Not recommended to go out in 50 knots and 20 ft waves.  I do love a storm though!!

Saturday:  The big north blow is going to come to an end quickly in the morning.  The rest of the day should be fairly light.  There should be some leftover waves to surf, but its going to be a downright chilly morning and cold day overall.

Sunday:  This is the day I’m looking at to get out.  The wind is going to be out of the south with sun in the sky.  It should be in the 20 knot range from Muskegon and north and higher winds at Little sable point and Big Sable point.  It’s looking a little lighter however up at Pt Betsie.  It’ll be a cool day, but should be alright overall with the proper gear.

We need big wave and wind days like today to widen the beaches along the shoreline.

  • Looks like its gonna start picking up around noon out of the SW. Little sable point and further north will be the most wind, but it will probably be enough to ride further south from Grand Haven to Muskegon later in the afternoon.
