Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Nov 5th and 6th

Last Week – Nailed It!:  Last Friday was awesome with good wind especially to the north of Muskegon.  The wind did fall off a little more than expected from Holland to Grand Haven as it got later in the day.  Sunday there was some kiteable wind but it was further south of the forecast locations.

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 13, Close – 15, Way Off – 0

Water Temp:  Not much change here.  Low to mid 50’s from North to South.

Today:  Mid afternoon the wind is going to pick up some out of the SW.  From Grand Haven to Muskegon and up to Ludington there should be around 10 to 15 knots.  From Manistee to Frankfort there should be a little more wind, around 15 to 20 knots.

Saturday:  The SW breeze is going to die off early and the rest of the day will be light and variable winds.

Sunday: Looks like more light and variable winds.

Aside from the lack of wind, the weekend looks like it is going to really nice.  The leaves look to be right around peak color now in West Michigan.

Last Friday afternoon, Jeff and I both had the afternoon off and we headed up to the honey hole.  We pulled in around 2 o’clock to hammering winds, nice waves and a few kites and surfers out on the water.  I started out on my 8m and had to even go to my 6m and was still fully powered up.  Jeff went 10m and then 8m.  The wind was still blowing hard when we wrapped up a little after 5pm.  It was a really fun session and great meeting and kiting with Bob, Todd and Todd.
