Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Oct 19th & 20th

Last Week: Close.  Friday and Saturday as planned.  Sunday just didn’t build quite enough to ride.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 12, Close – 16, Way Off – 2

Friday:  It’s on!!  West winds to 25 to 30 knots from Holland to LSP for the rest of the afternoon.  LSP to Betsie will also be westerly from 20 to 25 knots.  Rain will be moving in around 4 or 5.  With the south wind from the morning, I would go for beaches on the north sides of the piers.

Saturday:  West to WSW winds mid to late afternoon from 20 to 25 knots.  Similar to Friday with chances for rain through out the day

Sunday: West winds again, but too light.  Probably in the 10 to 15 knot range.

Quite a bit of wind in the forecast for the weekend and it seems to keep changing every half day with intensity.  I could see Sunday’s forecast improving.  Aside from the rain, should be a good weekend.  Keep an eye out for gusty conditions when a rain cloud does move in.
