Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Oct 26th and 27th

Last Week: Close.  Friday was good and Saturday was good south of Manistee at times but not as good as I thought it would be.  Sunday never picked up

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 12, Close – 17, Way Off – 2

Friday:  Mid afternoon the wind is going to start building out of the SW on Lake MI.  The whole lakesshore should be rideable by 5pm until dark.

Saturday:  WEST GALES!  After midnight the wind is going to be SW to 40 knots building some monster waves.  By daybreak the wind is going to be West and in the 30 knot range and afternoon the wind is going to be NW in the 25 to 30 knot range.  This will cover the entire lakeshore.  Pick an open beach with lots of room downwind…. Good Luck

Sunday: West winds, but too light.  Probably in the 10 to 15 knot range.

Waves should be good out of the south early but as the wind switches to West and NW, I’m curious to see what’s going to happen.  Hopefully it just doesn’t turn into crazy big mush.
