Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Sept 14th and 15th

Last Week: Nailed it! Friday and Saturday had south winds for portions of the day and Sunday was all East.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 10, Close – 12, Way Off – 2

Friday:  North to northeast winds on lake Michigan around 15 to 20 knots for the rest of the afternoon.  Manistee and Holland would be the places to go today or even further south.  Some other spots that might work are federal park, nordhouse, silver lake and little sauble.  Just have to make sure the wind is side or side on and not side off for the best conditions.

Saturday:  In the afternoon a south wind is going to build in the northern half of lake Michigan.  Speeds should be in the 15 to 25 knot range depending on location.  The big points on the lake will be the spots to go with Pt Betsie probably the windiest.

Sunday: Light winds for most of the day until evening when a strong north wind is going to build in the northern part of lake Michigan.  There should be 15 to 20 knots from Nordhouse dunes to Pt Betsie.  Manistee would a good spot to go.

I’m not completely certain about Sunday yet.  It will be interesting to see if the forecast holds, improves or fades out.  Hopefully it gets better and fills in earlier in the day and further south.
