Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Sept 24th and 25th

Two Weeks Ago – Close: Last Friday remained light, but the very dedicated riders were able to get out for a light wind session.  Saturday was too light for the southern half of the lakeshore.  The northern half did have enough for a light wind session.  Sunday was too light.

Tally So Far:  Nailed It – 8, Close – 14, Way Off – 0

Water Temp:  Hanging around 70 for the southern half and upper 60’s for the northern half of the lakeshore today, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it drop pretty dramatically over the weekend due to turning over from the east wind.

Today: NE wind this afternoon.  It will be offshore everywhere, even Manistee.  Even though it might get up to around 15 to 18 knots, still won’t be recommended to kiteboard.

Saturday:  Due east wind everywhere around 10 knots.  Offshore.

Sunday:  More easterly wind.  It will be out of the SE at 10 to 15 knots.  Still offshore everywhere.

Pretty horrible forecast for kiteboarding and I hope all the east wind doesn’t turn the water over.  Today could be the last of the 70 degree water for the year.  Lots of kiteboarders will be at Grand Haven City Beach this weekend.  At least we can shoot the breeze still about gear and rides if we won’t be out shredding.

1st Street Beach Early Friday
Might be a good weekend to take the SUP for a spin
