WIth wide open undeveloped beach for several miles along the shoreline the state park is one of the most beautiful areas in West Michigan. Takes about 10-15 mins to get to the beach from the highway but it's worth the wait. The north jetty provides protection and clean waves when it's blowing out of the south.
Best Wind Direction: South to Southwest
Rideable wind direction: South, Southwest, West, Northwest, North Northwest
Better alternatives nearby for other wind directions: If the wind is blowing out of the North your best bet is Pere Marquette just south of the pier. If blowing out of the East then head to Muskegon Lake.
Parking: Lots of parking in the main state beach parking lot. A recreational passport is required and can be bought on the way in.
Bathrooms: Clean facilities at the beach.
