Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast May 17th and 18th

Last Week:  Close.  Was right on for Friday.  Wind blew up until about 5 after the rain moved through.  Unfortunately I was a little too optimistic Saturday.  It never quite picked up to the 15 knot range.  Sunday was right on.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 1, Close – 3, Way Off – 0

Today:  Looks like it’s going to stay on the light side out of the NW this afternoon.

Saturday:  Most of the day looks light, however by evening it looks like it could pick up enough at Little Sable Point and Pt Betsie to the 15 to knot range.

Sunday:  Looking a little better for some thermal wind with a southerly flow and sunny skies.  All day should be windy enough at Pt Betsie, possibly going over 20 knots from the South.  Mid afternoon and on should be windy at Little Sable Point around 15 to 20 knots.

Got a good ride in last night on a cold NNW wind.  Really looking forward to some nice warm southerly winds.  Hopefully I can make it out to one of the points this weekend.  Also some good news from this past winter is that Lake Michigan is still gaining on water lever.  It is now only 7 inches below long term average and it is projected to raise another 8 inches over the next month!

Fun boosting day
