Weekend Kiteboarding Forecast Oct 5th & 6th

Last Week: Nailed It!  Friday went as predicted, Saturday was a little lighter than I thought.  However, there were times during the day when the wind did get to 15 knots and a little higher.  Sunday pretty much right on except the NW didn’t build until mid afternoon when it thermalled under sunny skies.

Tally So Far: Nailed It! – 12, Close – 14, Way Off – 2

Friday:  Winds light and variable

Saturday:  Wind is going to be SSE all day until later at night.  However, late morning to mid afternoon might be rideable from around Meinart Park to Little Sable where SSE wind is side shore.  Rain is in the forecast and the wind will probably only top out at 15 knots, so it’s probably not worth it.  No sun to generate thermal winds.

Sunday: Looks like the best chance for some riding.  Wind should be SW all day long from dawn to dusk with the afternoon having the strongest wind at 20 to 25 knots.  Good spots will be Holland St Pk, North Shore GH, North Mkg St Pk, LSP, Pentwater, Ludington Stearns Pk, Manistee 5th Ave, Frankfort and Pt Betsie.  Pretty much the entire shoreline should be side on to varying degrees.

We’ve been pretty spoiled temperature wise so far this fall, but Sunday is going to drop down into the 50’s.  Don’t forget to check out our homepage with our new Lake Michigan webcam shots and go to  www.manisteesurfcam.com to check out the live feed!
